Cindy Yeilding is BP’s Vice President of Global Basin Analysis, Exploration. Previous roles include VP of Gulf of Mexico Exploration and Appraisal, Geoscience Authority for GoM and Global Geoscience Research and Technology Manager. Cindy earned her MSc from the University of North Carolina after receiving a BS in Geology from SMU. As an exploration, production, appraisal and well site geoscientist, Cindy has developed and led short courses and field seminars. She has also chaired numerous technical sessions and presented many technical talks and provocative talks such as “Is the Workstation Killing Geology?” and “All that’s Certain is Uncertainty.”
Cindy has served as an AAPG (American Association of Petroleum Geologists) Distinguished Lecturer and was named a “Legend in Exploration” by AAPG in 2003. She was a founding member of BP’s AAPG’s Women’s Committee (PROWESS), and initiated and implemented the Women’s Networking Session (WISE) at the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC). She is active in promoting STEM education. Cindy is the executive sponsor for the BP’s Women’s Network in Houston. Cindy is a member of the OTC Board of Directors and serves on the Board of Directors of BPX&P.
