Angela John

Angela JohnAngela John is a senior vice president of BP Energy Co.’s Global natural gas liquids (NGLs) business. She leads a team of approximately 30 optimizers, marketers, analysts and schedulers accountable for North American NGL and Sulphur supply, marketing and optimization. Angela is responsible for equity flow out BP’s upstream groups and the Whiting, Toledo and Cherry Point refineries. Angela’s team focuses on all facets of the value chain, including supply aggregation, fractionation, transport, storage and marketing. Angela’s portfolio includes supply and demand balancing for approximately 550k LT/yr sulphur, 250 kbpd NGLs, 100k bpd fractionation capacity, 4 million barrels of NGL storage and 2200 railcars.

Angela has been with BP for more than 20 years, including 18 years commercial experience in chemicals, refining, oil, natural gas and NGLs. She has been leading marketing, trading and optimization teams within BP Energy since 2006, and is the founder and executive sponsor of BP Energy’s Women’s Leadership Group, aimed at encouraging women to pursue commercial leadership positions.

Prior to her most recent appointment, Angela served as Vice President of several regional NGL and natural gas businesses. Her previous accountabilities include natural gas and crude oil trading, as well as engineering and supply chain optimization roles within Amoco Chemicals.

Angela has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Houston and an MBA with a focus in strategy, organizational design and marketing from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management.
