Marta Vasel

Marta joined the BP Global Accounts team July of 2014 as the Vice President of Strategic Cooperation and is responsible for BP’s global business, strategy and relationship with GE. Prior to this, she was Vice President for the BP Aromatics Americas Business Unit. She was responsible for $6 Billion in annual revenues and managed all customer and commercial activities for over 3.5 million tons of chemical product sales.

Marta has over 24 years of commercial experience including product management, sales, marketing, business and strategy development in the Chemicals, Pipelines and Fuels businesses and is a current Vice Chair and Board Member of HACE (Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement). Marta previously held the position of President and board member of Inland Corporation, a Joint Venture Pipeline Company. She has experience in product distribution and logistics optimization in the chemicals and fuels supply chains. She has been successful in building partnerships between customers, consultants, internal stakeholders, and venture partners.

She is a Chemical Engineer from Purdue University and holds an MBA from DePaul’s Kelldstadt Business School. She strongly believes in mentoring others for personal success. In 2015, she was awarded the Corporate Champion award by HACE. She was recently awarded the Top 20 Business Women in Houston award by the National Women’s Council in October 2015. In 2013, She was selected as a “Most Powerful and Influential Woman of Illinois.” by the National Diversity Council.
Marta was born in Latin America and lived in several countries south of the US border where she developed a love for her native language and the Latin culture. She resides in Katy, Texas with her husband Bob of 19 years and her thirteen year old daughter, Cristina Helena. She has a passion for Latin dancing, scuba diving, and rescuing animals in need.
